The Color Psychology of Green

• Green is a cool color that symbolizes nature and the natural world.


• Green also represents tranquility, good luck, health, and jealousy.

• Green is life. Abundant in nature, green signifies growth, renewal, health, and environment. On the flip side, green is jealousy or envy (green-eyed monster) and inexperience.

• Green is a restful color with some of the same calming attributes of blue. Like blue, time moves faster in a green room.

Green is considered the traditional color of Islam. Islam used/uses this shade of green symbolically because the tribe of the prophet Muhammad s.a.w had a green banner and because to them green represented paradise (the Persian word for garden) to desert-dwelling Bedouin tribes when they gathered at an oasis. Muhammad s.a.w is reliably quoted in a hadith as saying that "water, greenery, and a beautiful face" were three universally good things.In the Qur'an, sura Al-Insan, believers in God in Paradise wear fine green silk.
